The paperwork
Terms of Service
Version 2026-08-05. These terms are the agreement between you and PlaneSim, the operator of theplanesim.com and its game worlds. Creating an account means you accept them. They are written to be read, not skimmed: they are short.
1. The service
PlaneSim is a persistent-world airline management simulation played in the browser. Worlds run around the clock, are shared with other players and with computer-controlled airlines, and follow published game rules that can change as the game develops. The game is in beta: worlds may be reset, concluded, or changed, and features may appear, change, or be removed at any time.
2. Your account
- One account per person. Registering or operating multiple accounts, including accounts used to assist your main account inside a game world, is not allowed.
- You are responsible for your account and for keeping its credentials safe. Accounts are personal: do not sell, share, or transfer them.
- If your account is suspended or banned, creating or using another account to evade that action is itself a violation and may lead to removal of the new account without warning.
3. Fair play
- No collusion between accounts controlled by the same person, and no schemes that funnel money, aircraft, or other in-game value between accounts in a way that circumvents the one-account rule.
- No exploiting bugs for advantage. If you find one, report it instead: worlds are shared, and an exploited bug damages everyone playing in them.
- No automation of gameplay (bots, scripted play) and no interference with the service, its servers, or other players' access to it.
- Airline names and other text you enter must not be offensive, misleading, or infringe the rights of others. We may rename or remove content that is.
4. Game worlds and game data
Everything inside a game world, including airlines, aircraft, money, routes, and game-time tokens, is game data. It has no monetary value, cannot be traded or redeemed outside the game, and remains part of the service. When a world is concluded we may publish its final statistics and history as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Payments and game time
The game is free during beta. If paid game time is introduced, prices and terms will be shown before any purchase, payments will be handled by a payment provider (currently Stripe), and game-time tokens will be non-transferable credits for playing the game, not a currency or stored value. Specific refund terms will be published alongside any purchase flow before payments go live.
6. Enforcement
We may warn, restrict, suspend, or ban accounts that violate these terms, and we may wind up the in-game airlines of banned accounts. We aim to be proportionate and to act on evidence, but shared worlds put the health of the world first. If you believe an action against your account was a mistake, contact us at support@theplanesim.com and we will look again.
7. The service is provided as is
PlaneSim is a beta game provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We do not promise uninterrupted service, the preservation of any particular world or game state, or that the game will be free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Changes and ending
We may update these terms. Meaningful changes will be announced on the site and the version date above will change; continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your account page.
9. Contact and law
PlaneSim is operated by theplanesim. Questions about these terms go to support@theplanesim.com. These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without affecting mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
